ABOUT
Poppy Camden is a Scottish designer specialising in costume and working across theatre, TV and film. With a base in London Poppy is currently focussing on expanding her work in costume supervision for theatre with recent theatre credits including: Assistant Costume Supervisor on Starlight Express and MJ the Musical in the West End. In addition to this, focussing on a series of on-going illustration projects.
How does it make you feel? What does that look like? How would you wear that?
These 3 simple questions form the starting point for every project, offering a path into a concept and a way of visualising the themes of social commentary that arise within her personal work. This process also applies to her work as a costume designer, approaching character development with an avid and endless curiosity. Whether designing for a solo project or for a production Poppy considers it all as visual storytelling with the aim to create work which challenges, confronts and engages with an audience as this to her is the joy of designing for live performance.
